The budget and the ceiling - never again

Forget the non-taper caper, this is worrying. The US government will be closed for business (by the 1st of October) if the budget isn't passed. Uncle Sam's credit rating would be chopped if the ceiling isn't raised in time. According to Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew, the shayt would hit the ceiling "no later than October 18."
